Dating to the Cretaceous, this fantastic genuine Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur tooth orginates from Hell Creek, Montana, USA.

Absolutely no repair or restoration - only stabilization of a hairline near the tip - there is NO actual break.

From THE most coveted dinosaur, this is a virtually perfect example having total enamel coverage and preservation of the highest quality.

There are no blemishes to the enamel whatsoever - the colouration is a gorgeous blend of caramel to mid brown with very clear striations and rippling, which can be seen and felt on both sides.

Both anterior and posterior serrations are superbly represented with approximately 90% intact.

The anterior serrations display feeding wear - evidence that this is a well used tooth having seen considerable action; remarkable for such an immaculate example!

The tip is genuine and not restored (no restoration or repair to this tooth) and has only the barest of enamel loss due to feeding wear (1/8" maximum).

The underlying dentine is pristine - no wear or loss and exhibits the same NATURAL high gloss finish as the enamel.

Unlike many teeth which have a significant proportion of root - this tooth is all crown and all 2 3/4" would have been visible in the mouth, above the jaw line!

The tooth was detached from its root, breaking off at the jaw line during either feeding or fighting - most likely having struck the bones of the T. rexs' prey or opponent.

This could account for the slight enamel loss to the tip and the clear break point at the base of the crown.

T. rex teeth are very rare - large examples particularly - teeth having zero repair or restoration are exceptionally rare.

Combined with pristine enamel and very high serration count, beautiful colouration, makes this tooth a genuine, rare, extraordinary high quality example.
